This will be a continuously updated list of the best sources available in Canada.
It is easier for Canadians to buy from sources located in Canada, or which have distribution centres located in
Canada. Actually this is probably true for most countries.
Customs has a habit of hanging on to items for a long time and also charging duty without looking to see if any
items fall under the Free Trade Agreements we have with many countries. It is then up to us to go and beg for
our money back...... yeah, like that is going to work! It is easier to buy from companies who deliver
from sites in Canada, even if their offices are located elsewhere.
Here are some sources I have either tried or have researched :
Tiger Direct is my first stop on any search for electronics. If you need a part for an upgrade or are
looking for a wide variety of electronics, it is worth looking through their site. They also have articles
and resources on all the most frustrating aspects of dealing with electronics, as well as some great component
matching calculators, so you don't go buying the wrong parts or additions.
Their shipping is fast and the customer service is second to none. This is why I use them. When I
want a computer part, I want it YESTERDAY! I have usually put off buying something until I'm totally
frustrated with the current situation. Can you relate?
So check out Tiger Direct by clicking on the banner below. They have great prices and a wide product
range.

If you are looking for brand names with great quality I have to suggest Dell.
Dell has had a bit of a rough patch over the past few years. This is a good thing. It has made them
focus on quality and customer service. They are rebuilding their reputation and are aiming high. In
fact, with the new Red Line ( my nickname for it) they are going after Apple and some custom gaming
computers.
Dell is putting out some pretty heavy equipment at great prices. And the best thing about these
units is that everything is built to work together, which is one of Apple's strengths.
Quality and convenience are great reasons for choosing Dell. Shipping is another. I love getting
things shipped, rather than dealing with lugging something through a mall. Also, if you order something like
their great flat panel TV, you get it safely delivered to your door! Lets face it, it is nearly suicidal to
bring one of these things home by yourself, and most stores charge at least $65 delivery ( even if it is free, they
have just added it to the price). By the way, I have see the TV in action and love it.
